Stafford Borough Local Plan 2020-2040
Stafford Borough Council has published their Local Plan Preferred Options document and is asking for people to give their views on the proposals in the document.
The Borough Council is asking for views about a wide range of planning issues including the development of the Meecebrook Garden Community which will see 3,000 houses built on land near Cold Meece by 2040 (with a plan to build an additional 3,000 homes in the following planning period).

The Parish Council has studied the Preferred Options paper in detail and has concluded that the aspiration for a garden community at Meecebrook is unrealistic and unlikely to deliver the promises set out. Our full consultation response can be found at:
Y&CM – Meecebrook Garden Community Consultation Response
Meecebrook, if it goes ahead, will have a profound effect on all the surrounding parishes and we will see major disruption on our roads and pressure on local services (schools, health and transport).
We would encourage everyone to comment on the Preferred Option Proposal by responding to the Borough Council’s plans. You can do this by emailing them at: SPPconsultations@staffordbc.gov.uk
